Motley Crue - Motley Crue for me. I hated that album so much when it came out that I threw the tape away. A couple of years later I saw the CD version in the cutout bin for cheap so I picked it up and for some reason it clicked with me. It's now one of my favorite Crue albums and is definitely one of their heaviest. At least the band don't disown it and it shows up on their hits compilations.

Here's another one for me:
Bruce Springsteen - "Born To Run"
I don't know whether it was the radio overkill of the title track or what but I used to hate any and everything Springsteen. Then when I was older I actually sat down and listened to "The River" album and something struck a chord. So I revisited most of Bruce's albums and discovered I really enjoy his early works (I still hate most of the Born In The USA album and most of his output since save "The Rising").
I can relate to this...I was a fan of Bruce Springsteen from Born to Run through Nebraska, but lost interest after Born in the USA was released. Not sure why, but I haven't really paid attention to any of his music since '84.
