Man.

I am just now discovering Mudhoney after years and years of discounting them, and assuming they sucked since they were thrown into the arbitrary grunge category.

I get that it was all marketing and since they were from the same area as all the other bands that were marketed the same way. But damn, this band rules. I don't know if their sound changed as they went on into the 90s, or if they ever started to fit any kind of genre mold.

But listening to the Green River stuff and then the first 2 albums...damn, it's just hyper frenetic fuzzed out garage rock and it rules so hard. Kicking myself for waiting this long to ever actually listen to them. But glad I finally did.

I have a 2-disc comp, March to Fuzz, that I'll break out every now and then when I'm in the mood. Disc 1 is a best of comp, disc 2 is rarities and b-sides. It's a nice little set for those looking for a taste of grunged-out fuzz rock.

I found out about these guys from the Singles soundtrack and thought they were pretty cool.

One of the better bands, I used to own 3 or 4 albums, and it all seemed the same to me.
I was not a huge fan, but they were enjoyable.

I haven't listened to Mudhoney in a very long time.
It took quite a few times, but now I will mostly remember them for being in a Chris Farley/David Spade movie, in a segment about MTV's Rock The Vote or something.

Before Nirvana hit big, all bands on the Sub Pop label were thrown in together over here and Mudhoney were one of them. I liked them but kind of lost them when the grunge trend was in full swing as it was all boring me at that point.
