It's been announced that they're coming to South Africa in November, so I'm interested in seeing them given the lack of metal acts that come here, but I thought I'd try to get some opinions on them first. It seems like a similar idea to Kings of Chaos, but judging from this setlist, they don't just do songs that they were involved in.

Apart from the Douche (HoM mainstays know who I'm talking about), it looks cool!

I would imagine he'd only be singing songs that are regarded as classics, not his newer stuff. I don't know how reassuring that is, considering that his range isn't what it used to be.
I found a video of an entire show, so this is a legitimate thing. Although I'm still a little wary as neither the official site nor their Facebook page have the South African dates listed at the moment.

Well last time I heard him do something live from Mindcrime, he sounded like utter crap. Granted that was in the late '00s, so who knows.

Turns out I was right to be wary and not buy tickets just yet as the South African shows have been cancelled.

I'm thinking of checking this out while I'm in Korea over the summer. They are doing shows in Seoul and Busan. Looks like the lineup has changed a bit. Vocalists now are: Geoff Tate, James Labrie, Paul D'ianno and Ripper Owens. I guess I'd rather they make this into a longer mini-festival gig rather than just having the vocalists each do just a couple of songs, but there won't be many other shows for me to see this summer.

Do they even ask Ripper Owens to do these things?
Or do they just assume that he'll turn up anyway and announce him

He's like Beetlejuice. Just say his name 3 times and he'll appear.

Do they have to do it that many times?
