Strangers was the best live album ever, and I was lucky enough to see them on that tour (with Priest opening with the Unleashed set). Can't top that!

Yeah, I'm not normally a fan of live albums but Strangers is great. And I wish I had seen that show; damn I'm jealous.

UFO opened with "Electric Phase" off Lights Out, which wasn't on the Strangers album. Priest opened with "Exciter". One of the best nights of my life, I still get goose bumps. I've mentioned this here before, but the old Met Center in Bloomington MN was only half full that night. It wasn't Hockey so nobody came.

I got the 5-disc box set, but it's missing Force It! Oddest thing, since the box was factory sealed and the CD sleeve for the disc was in there. I will return it and get a new one.
I gave Phenomenon a quick listen though, and it's pretty much what I remembered it to be - a coupla classic killer tracks, and then some dull generic mellow tracks.

I got the box set replaced and I've been listening to Force It lately. I recognised a lot of the songs from the Covenant bonus live disc - (which my copy of Covenant oddly enough seems to place in an incorrect order, or rather, the tracklist is wrong, causing me to confuse myself over if I know a song or not... bizarre).
Anyway, Force It, I really like it a lot. Great 70's ballsy, heavy shit, and Schenker sounds amazing. "This Kid's" sounds like it could be penned by Hendrix.

One of my favorite bands of all time! One of my automatic buys when they release a new record.

I always liked this record but most die hards don't. It started out as a solo release for Phil but the label said no. Somewhat like 7th Star Iommi/Sabbath..

Love the Schenker era of course, but the Chapman era is a VERY close second.

This Thread / Topic I think would belong to the "Heart of Metal" session of the board , since UFO is (as far as I´m concerned) Hard Rock.

Yeah, I'd say it's both hard rock and heavy metal.
To somehow label it as not hard rock/heavy metal is definitely confusing.

I started to get into these guys a few years back (due in large part to Eddie Trunk's incessant lobbying on TMS) and I really like them. I have Phenomenon up to Making Contact and a 5 Disc Box Set of the most recent. And I find I like the non Schenker stuff as much as the classic material. Scored a pair of albums this past weekend at a Newbury's in MA; Live in Tokyo and High Stakes and Dangerous Men.
