Brazilian bands you should check

Torture Squad is one that you all need to check out if you're not already familiar with them.

Oh yeah , but I don´t really like Torture Squad , they mix thrash and death metal parts but I´m not really fond on Death Metal.


But talking about Death Metal there are tons of Brazilian bands. Sarcofago is essential , they where on of the inventors of Death Metal , and one of the first bands to use blastbeats.

Pandemonium sounds really good. R.F. what is the next one I should hunt down in your opinion? Still listening to the Pandemonium vid you posted, and I think it'll be this one.

I never did care for MX. To me, their songwriting always seemed sloppy...

My brother had a pen pal in Brazil in the late 80s/early 90s who he used to trade records with, so he's got Brazilian pressings of a lot of the old school bands (MX, Sarcofago, Mutilator, The Mist, Korzus, R.D.P., etc.) Most of them sounded 'sloppy' to me.

The lyric sheets to those records were always a scream though. The almost-English was a treasure trove of unintentional comedy.

Well I really like Korzus , there are some other bands, but talking about Old School ones these are some of the most important. Dissafection sounds good , in spite of the fact that they are White Metal.

Some people really dislike Christian bands here in Brazil. Antestor came here last year and many satanists protested against them:

That was a cool protest / demonstration.
Even that tall tough cop seemed cool about it.
Here In Massachussetts - there's one particular college - Harvard -
and students were going to do a ' black mass ' on the courtyard -
Christians poured out in the 100's - on TV news - newspapers - etc -

I have one dvd I bought this year, Screams Of Abaddon Metal Fest (in Salvador, Brazil, in 2006),
with unblack / Christian death metal bands.

Now I wonder if those bands are still around.

Early SEPULTURA (up to Arise), VIPER, and some ANGRA is all I can think of.
