First and foremost, the guitar work is absolutely outstanding - Ray Schenck, Alan Barlam -
Rik Foxx on bass guitar - was actually in the band - but left for the STEELER gig -
Another band member quit because of all the occult arts practiced - and became a minister -
The song " EVIL ONE " hints at Sabbath's " Heaven and Hell " haunting - desolate - attractive -
with the sudden pick-up fast tempo change at the ending of the tune too -
Ronnie and Wendy Dio had a strong intrest in the band at one point -
" FIRE " is my favorite - it's like your standing there - in the front row of their concert -
hot - sexy - young - dangerous - take no prisoners - L.A action - hints at bi-sexuality -
Hellion's riffs are always unique - the way Savatage's riffs were - a shade odd -
( that would of been a great double bill for a show! )
Dig her scream after the guitar solo on " BREAK THE SPELL " - then immediately sings ' magic ' -
" NEVERMORE " is about a cocaine dealer who visits her once too often ( Poe's Raven? )
" BACKSTABBER " about her female friend who steals her man -
and sounds like she certainly placed a curse on her -
" NIGHTMARES IN DAYLIGHT " again - that concert vibe - that early 80's studio sound -
rough and tuble background vocals - worth every dollar !
