Been on an Otis Redding kick lately and man this guys voice is amazing!!! Any fans of Mr. Redding.. I also see he died at only the age of 26, how tragic...
Love the guitar playing in this song and this sound epitomizes what Otis was all about...

Didn't realize he was that young. I was a casual fan but one time I got some of his albums that were sent by mistake on my order from secondspin. Might be the best freebies I've ever got. Made me a fan. And while the well known songs are great I find a lot to love on those deeper album tracks.

Casual fan of his better known songs, never delved deeper, I should do though, because what I know, I really like.

The track that Rob posted is fantastic. I became quite a soul fan in my late teens, but it was part of the 'Northern Soul' scene in the U.K which was all about DJ's in the North of England finding really obscure but totally amazing U.S soul records from the 60's. It was great, but I never really listened to much of the more popular acts (not much has changed really! )

Seems that song was written and recorded by Jerry Butler. I much prefer Otis Redding singing it!!

Otis has some great stuff. You should check out Brenton Wood if you haven't already. I am a sucker for '60s & '70s R&B and Soul.
