Agreed. She was a trailblazer for so many artists. Most notably Lita Ford and Joan Jett. Good stuff. |

| Mmm, love me some Pat Benatar! I only have a greatest hits collection on CD but I still have her S/T and "Get Nervous" albums on vinyl in the back of the closet somewhere. She was my first "MTV Crush" when I was a kid. Fantastic voice too! | |

| When a buddy of mine gave me some cdr's he burned to check out, he slipped Pat's Greatest Hits in there. I looked at him kinda weird and said "Really? Pat Benatar". Turns out I kinda dig it. The wife & I listened to it on the way to the shore. She had more hits than I remembered and has a great voice. And yes, I saw her recently on VH1 and she's still got it going on. | |

Yea, she's aged well. Have you ever seen her daughter? Gorgeous! She inherited her Mom's good genes.

| Hmmm... Pat Benatar. Yes! Love her stuff. She does have a terrific set of lungs. She up there in my list of top female singers, along with Chrissie Hynde from the Pretenders. | |

| Found this old thread on Pat Benatar, was voted by VH1 as # 74 on greatest hard rock artist of all time, her first three albums are classic and she was the first female rocker I can recall ( Joan Jett came a little later) at the time who was also an arena headline attraction. I was not yet aware of The Runaways, Suzi Quarto, so Benatar was first introduction to female hard rock star. Also think that in the case of the Runaways and Suzi Quarto there impact was mostly overseas (saleswise anyway) so Benatar was the only Platinum female rocker during the late 70's/ early 80's if you exclude Stevie Nicks who to me is more soft rock than hard rock, maybe Heart had gone platinum also by then but I am not sure, Pat Benatar a rock pioneer than seldom gets mentioned | |

| Pat Benatar to me is one of those people that if she had never made it big and you passed her on the street, one might not take a second look. But, put her on a stage, and have her strut around, and also belt out some songs....and she suddenly turns into the hottest thing in the world.
Pat was attitude personified. She owned up on the stage. Her husband is pretty cool too! Even though her songs became more poppy as her career carried on, my favorite songs are either "Shadows of the Night" or "Invincible".
Did anyone ever see one of the old episodes of "Crossroads" with Pat & Martina McBride? I've never seen someone so happy to be on stage with Pat like Martina was that night. When Pat was singing one of Martina's songs or when Pat was doing one of her own tunes, Martina kept putting her hand over her heart (with that feeling of awe, that one of her idols was up on stage with her). It was very cool.
