My quote option is trippin'

If I copy and paste a quote and use the quote button in the reply box, it will let me insert it in the proper place.  When I type my response below it in the box below it shows that, but when I click "post".....the quote disappears  and just my response goes on the board.   Example....I quoted the post in the Guardian thread about no geetar solo and just my response appeared.  Also if I use the quote button on bottom right corner and a reply box comes up.  It wont let me click below the quote and type a response.   I can click in the same box as the quote, but when posted my response appears as part of the same quote.

any advice ?

I figured it out, finally   

It was fixed with clicking on "compatibility view" of all things.

Weird that it never gave me grief before, much less how it even happened.
