Alcest - Opale

Neige is going to lose some fans with this but I love it.



One of my most eagerly awaited albums for 2014

I've tried and tried and tried with this band, and nothing. I still feel Neige's better project was the defunct Amesoeurs. I'll look at this new video though.

I really enjoyed their earlier albums but can't say this particular track is doing anything for me. It sounds too much like U2, I kept expecting to hear Bono start singing at any moment.

I'll reserve judgement until I can hear the full album.

Yeah that song made me think of U2 too

It's primarily atmospheric type stuff, some call it shoegaze (which I refuse to acknowledge as a musical term).  I've really enjoyed their music for late-night, mellow listening.

They've really embraced the shoegaze part of their sound, and I've gotta say I quite like it. I'm still looking forward to the new album.

, I'm sure that he will do something harsher/heavier again in the future.

I like Delivrance better than I do Opale. I'm really looking forward to hearing the whole album.

The opening single is the least effective song on the album.  The album just continues to get better and better after that track.  

Voix Sereines is a really beautiful track, love it.
