| Sold my only copy of "Strange Sects - Hair's Looking At You" today. A really good album. How is that motivation for a new thread you ask? Strange Sects was Nicci Wikkid from Slave Raider's Post-Raid band. Which makes me think... What are some other cool bands that broke up and individual members went on to do record equally-as-cool stuff?A few that comes to my mind: Ted Poley has recorded a TON of great stuff since leaving Danger Danger. Obviously Halford and Dickinson barely missed a beat in the 90's [a couple of mis-steps though - let's be honest] After Rough Cutt, Paul Shortino recorded my favorite Quiet Riot album, then kept kicking ass in various bands and solo endeavers. I'll also throw in Johnny Rod and his post-King Kobra days in WASP. | |

| When ELO went belly up Jeff Lynne did quite nice as a member of the Traveling Wilburys. _________________ | |

i wasn't aware that Priest & Maiden had ever officially "broken up". i thought their singers just left. _________________

| I have a feeling that this won't be popular but I really love what Dave King has done with Flogging Molly after the demise of Fastway. (then again, I grew up with Irish music) | |

| Maybe not equally cool, but Trypticon is a great way to follow on from Celtic Frost. (and Celtic Frost was a huge improvement from Hellhammer) | |

Have they ever? That is the only reason I have continued to take my chances. I mean, you are a scarey east coast black/death metal dude. What Midwest fan of real music would mess with that????

Yep, he does and he still ruled when he stopped being Prince and became that strange little squiggly symbol thing, so in a way he belongs in this thread, kind of!

X2!! John Fogerty's solo stuff is very very good, Kai Hanson left Helloween and formed Gamma Ray. Matt Sinner and Rolf Scheepers did that Primal Fear thing. There was also that one guy from the Yardbirds, Jimmy-something-or-other, that put together a band and named the band after a dirigible (so goes the rumor).

| Unfortunately it was the tragedy of Chuck's passing that split up Control Denied..but Tim Aymar did go on to sing for the awesomeness that is Pharaoh.

| U.D.O. seemed to do pretty well on his own after he bailed from Accept. I think by this point he's released more albums under his own name than Accept has.
Dee Snider's post-Twisted Sister stuff didn't exactly set the charts afire but he's released some goodies, like the first Widowmaker album and his Never Let The Bastards Wear You Down solo disc. (We won't discuss his Dee Does Broadway thing...) _________________ "If you're a false, don't entry, because you'll be burned and died!"
