| I was just looking for the Helloween Discography thread but I can't find it. Did it just disappear or am I just not seeing it? _________________ | |

| I think it got dumped when the system dumped a bunch of discographies. It used to be a few pages, now it's only one. | |

| Many of the old threads got accidentally purged. We've started re-creating some of them.

| I had forgotten all about those discography threads! I think I was supposed to do a Dream Theater one but it never happened. Maybe I'll be up to it someday if someone else doesn't tackle it before then. | |

Just write the same review and change the album names for each release _________________

Yeah, one of the worst bands ever! I would never be caught dead listening to them.

| The Helloween now is just an "okay" band.
But you can't deny that this band once ruled the dominion! - Keepers fan

| I don't like Deris and I didn't like Kiske (although some of KOTSK 1 was good)
The last Helloween record that I loved was Walls of Jericho. So it's hardly surprising that I now prefer Gamma Ray.
Long live Kai! | |

Long live Kai! I think Kai sounds better in Gamma Ray then he ever did in Helloween. His voice has gotten so much better since Walls Of Jericho.

I enjoy Kiske on the Keepers albums but it was Deris who really saved the band with Master of the Rings. _________________

I enjoy Kiske on the Keepers albums but it was Deris who really saved the band with Master of the Rings. In the early-mid 90s I was only familiar with the first three Helloween albums. Then in '98 I heard Better Than Raw and later found Time Of The Oath at a mall in California (along with Dream Theater-Metropolis Pt. 2) a year later. Those two albums almost never left my CD player for the next 3 years. I thought Deris had that rougher voice that Kai had on WOJ but with more clarity and control (this was several years before I first heard Kai's improvement with Gamma Ray.

| I agree that Kai wasn't the best singer back then, but I was listening to a lot of early thrash at that time so I was used to technically poor vocals and his rougher voice just suited my tastes better.
I've got to confess that I haven't heard a lot of the stuff that they've done with Deris. I completely lost all interest in them about the time of Pink Bubbles go Ape as they were far, far too cheesy by then and I've never picked back up on them. I did hear their version of Hocus Pocus but that's a crazy cover as you will never top the original. The new stuff that's been on this forum, I can see why people might like it but it's not for me.
