| So....exactly how many CDs do you have? I see where you buy multiple titles almost daily. Just curious.
I've seen Uncle Sax's huge collection (before the sell-off) and couldn't believe the size. (There's a joke somewhere in there), and I imagine Eyesore's collection is just stupid huge.

| Damn I thought I was going to get a cool music recommendation. I have too many. I've never actually done a count. Tried online cataloguing but it just took too much time. I was going to post a picture in that collection thread but then thought that seemed kinda dickish. I'm currently attempting to build library stacks (floor to ceiling) for my home office to bring a little more organization to everything. And to make the girlfriend happy. I will say I buy cheap and have perfected the art of bargain hunting. Also I have no other vices so cds are my entertainment expenditures pretty much. I consider myself a bit of a cd survivalist in the sense I fear not being able to buy actual physical product.

| I only wish my collection was that big. Though if it was, I'd have nowhere to put them . | |

| I have a friend whose jazz collection is that size, he literally has 2 rooms of his house dedicated solely to storing jazz CDs. I'm sure it's great to own, but I know for a fact that many of those discs haven't been touched in years. Plus he's constantly buying stuff he already owns that he's forgotten about...and he buys every single reissue, so there are many albums he probably has 5 different versions of.
I feel sorry for him because he is moving this year...I hate to think about boxing up and hauling all those damn discs.

Heck, my 1300+ CDs boxed up is enough of a pain to haul.

| My collection is down in the basement in totes right now. Soon, it'll be in storage. Getting rid of my house, moving into my girlfriend/soon-to-be-wife's tiny house until we can sell it, and then hopefully moving to a much bigger place where I can put the collection back on display.
I miss looking at it. =( | |

| I'm lucky in that space is not much of an issue. It's just economizing the space that I'm in the process of doing. The library style stacks will greatly help with this. Just have to find the time to complete the project. Or as my girlfriend likes to remind me - time I spend getting more discs. Over the last couple of years I've come up with a rotating play system so that stuff doesn't just sit. I'm one of those people who hates the idea of owning something just to own it. There has been a lot of stuff I've re-discovered through digging deep into the collection. - Quote :

Just the thought of that would make me nervous. I've never come across a storage business I felt secure leaving anything with. I'm paranoid about those places.

| I hear ya. But this one has a lot of cameras, our unit is indoors, and it's not in a bad area.
My only concern is that shortly after we set up the account, we noticed two weird charges on our credit card, so we had it canceled and new ones sent. Well, we forgot to change the payment info with the storage place, but they never called us when payment didn't go through.
Immediately I start thinking they do this crap on purpose so they can auction units off, so I called them up and flipped out on them. That might have been a bit of overkill, but I'm not taking any chances.
Luckily the place is like two minutes from where I'm moving so I'll be able to stop by every other week or so and make sure things are okay.
