I know, this sound is passe' around here these days but I love it. Taking Blind Guardian's sound of the 90's and making it their own. Anyways, here's Amazong samples for those who care though I think they're too short to really expose the songs.

I liked "Vale" but couldn't get into the second one for some reason so I never gave this one a listen. I'm not sure if they changed or I did...

It's all you. The thing is, this has been done so much but these guys do it really, really well and seem to be having fun at the same time.

Yeah, that's kind of what I figured; I just got tired of this style of music. But you're right, they do it very well.

I will second in and say that this release is killer and a fun listen all the way through. I think there is enough experimentation within their sound and they seem to keep moving forward in their releases. I will say that this release is like the last two melded together - the more folkier stuff from Vale & the more straight forward metal sound from Easton Hope. A top ten from 2012 for sure for me.

I can't resist this but Power Metal is kitty

I actually ordered their latest recently - I liked what I heard off it but I am not familiar with their earlier albums.

What I heard off their latest album reminds a bit of Avantasia and Blind Guardian. It has that operatic / symphonic feel to it, which I generally like.

I just checked out the first 2 clips on Amazon, and it sounded like good modern power metal to me, something that haven't been made in decades. I think I'll add this band to my wantlist.

These guys are on my radar. When searching for great album art, I came accross one of their album covers and then listened to samples. However, with my large wantlist, it may be a while til I get anything.
