I think I'm hooked.

People have been recommending these guys to me for a while now, and I just...I don't know, I liked what I heard but it seemed like too much of a spectacle for me, I guess. But the more I hear, the more I really enjoy them. I guess I just don't like the flashy visual component that are most of their videos. Or maybe it all confused me.

Anyone else dig this band?

They're like Queen meets The Darkness meets The Mars Volta.

Based on those examples I'd put this band in the same category as Steel Panther; another band I wish would take their talent seriously.

I agree about Steel Panther, but I don't think Foxy Shazam is meant as a spoof. I think they are serious, at least musically.

I'm a moderate fan of Queen and not really of those other 2. But I wanted to give these guys a fair shake just because of the name.

I listened to the clips while I was putting some cds away last night so as to not get caught up in the visuals, but it didn't do much for me. The songs were catchy enough, but the falsetto vocals kinda reminded me of The Darkness and I just can't get into them either.

That's why I can't get into The Darkness, but this guy at least doesn't sound like a Muppet.

I dig them since I first heard I Like It. They have kind of a retro funky sound that I really like

I started listening to these guys recently after hearing about them from the guys who host "Music Worth Buying" on youtube. Very cool guys.

Onto Foxy Shazam - I like the mix of styles. I cannot really pin point what they sound like but I can hear a bit of 70s rock / glam rock, a bit of alternative - it's all over the place. The vocals are way out there at times and they can be an acquired taste at times. Definitely a band that won't hit you right away with big arena songs - more of a band that you need to revisit several times before you fully digest what they're about.
