This song is great, but I didn't expect this new kind of sound, particularly in the vocal delivery. This band is so good, far better than most of the so-called "metalcore" bands that came out in the early 2000s, but sadly they got lost in the shuffle, I think. Way underrated.

Great song. Are their earlier releases sound even remotely close? I have some troubles appreciating typical metalcore vocals.

Musically, yes. They've always been a bit more progressive in their approach than other similar bands, but I don't recall an entire song sung this way.
They have some clean singing, though:

I like the song. Metalsucks premiered it last week and I checked it out then. Great band and like you said Eyesore, way underrated.

Byzantine have a new album coming out. This new tune has more of an early 90s metal sound. It kicks ass!

Those songs were for another album, self-titled, which came out in 2013.
