Any fans of Izzy's solo stuff? Out of all the ex-Guns 'N' Roses member, his solo work is easily the best; yet sadly it's also the most underrated.
This new tune is no different. Excellent stuff!

Man...I saw an Izzy cd at a pawn shop a few months ago. My plan was to listen to some YouTube action and scope it out. The only thing is I didn't remember the title 130 miles later when I got home. Blame it on blasting Dark Angel on the way home.
Is that Tal Wilkenfield on bass ?

His solo stuff has a more laid back Rolling Stones style, kind of like Keith Richards solo material, very cool stuff IMO

Absolutely not, that's a dude with a beard. Tal doesn't need to slum around with Izzy Stradlin.

I'm a big fan of his early solo stuff. The 2 or 3 discs I have are decent Keef/Stones-like rock. Last I heard, he only puts out digital releases thru itunes, no more cds, so I've been less-inclined to check him out.
And yes, the more I hear of both Slash & Duff's solo output, the more I'm inclined to think Izzy was the real talent there.

Whoa, that track is awesome. I need to get some of his stuff. It's always been in the back of my mind, for 20 years.
I think Duff's first solo CD was really good. I just haven't really cared for anything he's done since.
Slash's solo stuff (as well as Slash's Snake Pit) is enjoyable enough. But aside from the fact that it's got that overarching Slash guitar sound, there's nothing really memorable about it.
I like the little bit of Steven Adler's stuff that has come out. Nothing phenomenal, but enjoyable.

I really like that quite a bit. It sounds to me like there is a little Ramones vibe in the mix. I am definitely checking this album out for sure.

Most of his solo stuff is in the same vein: Rolling Stones, Faces, a little Ramones, etc. He's got a few random tracks mixed in here and there, like a reggae-ish tune, but those are few and far between. The bulk of his catalog is excellent.
The unfortunate part is that he was one of the very first artists to go fully digital. The first five came out on CD, but ever since it's been digital only. More than half his solo work isn't out on CD, which is a bummer.

Yea, he likes to dip his toes in the reggae waters now & then (much like Keith Richards), but not so much that it's bad or overly done. I'm not a reggae fan, but I can tolerate his take on the genre.
Perhaps someday I'll accept the digital format and pick up some more of his music. Doubtful, but I guess anythings possible.

it is a shame it never took off. He kinda got lost as GNR went their own way.

I like all the bands you're namedropping here but I have the same opinion of this new track that I have of all of Izzy's output that I've heard (which admittedly isn't very much) . Yawn. To me, it's not memorable at all and sounds like something a cover bar band would come up with as their first "original" song.

I'd rather take Slash's solo stuff over it or even Gilby Clarke (who made a few good albums) Izzy started out good with the Ju Ju Hounds album and 117° was also pretty good but since then it was basically the same stuff over and over. Take his last few albums: Miami, Concrete, Smoke...there's no variety. Like a Dog had a few good songs like SNAFU, Win U Lose or Hammerhead.
