Jake is still one of my very favorite 80s guitarists, the two albums with Ozzy are must-haves (even considering how over-produced The Ultimate Sin is).

I saw Brad play with Ozzy after Randy was killed and appreciated his talent but.......it just wasn't "Right"

Then I saw Jake's first show with Ozzy (US 83') and I was like, "this is right"

I know Toho mentioned not liking the overabundance of funk rhythms on this album, but I completely dig it. Fagen is a master of the slow-jam mellow funk/jazz rhythms and he surrounds himself with players that can do it justice.

There is some killer fusion guitar work by Jon Herington throughout this record.

speaking of fuzion..........have ya checked out Paul Gilbert's "Vibrato" yet

an old bandmate of mine just got off the horn with me and he talked it up enough for me to throw some ears on it.

I haven't heard that, I'll check it out. Thanks for the recommendation.

I've been listening to Chris Poland's fusion albums recently, I need to go see him at The Baked Potato sometime, OHM and Ohmphrey play their all the time. Good stuff, very early 70s Tony Williams/Billy Cobham style.
