List of upcoming band threads

Since the board, for whatever reason, decided to flush out the better part of this section, I decided to start this thread as a new one. So it's clean slate, people. Pick a band, and I'll create a new list of bands and authors. I'll even try to monitor this thrwad better than I did the old one

You mean all of those threads are gone forever?

There must be a way to get the contents back.

EDIT: Google has everything in their cache. You just need to know what to look for, eg. Savatage Discography

Choose the cached version of the site. Your browser can probably save a copy of the page to your hard drive. In Opera, just go to 'page' and 'save as'.

Google updates their cache every now and then so grab what you want while you can.

Obviously this won't help bring back the threads to the boards, but at least you can save a copy for yourself.

I don't even see a reason to limit the number of threads started at a time, I think those threads garner a good bit of conversation so I think the more the merrier right now.


I have copies of the Black Sabbath and Rush threads I did, I might just re-post them (with some possibile edits).

OK, I must be stupid... how do I see the "cached" version? When I click on any of the links on the Google page, I get a Heart of Metal page that sez "the page you requested no longer exists" or words to that effect. ???

Cool, thanx for the tip. Will look into this when I get home, hopefully I can use this method to copy what I posted in the original thread(s) rather than re-writing everything from scratch.

I am going to try to start my Doors thread again tonight or tomorrow evening. I am just going to start from scratch since I did not save any of the information.

I will start my two as well - it will be fun to revisit all those albums and write on them again!!!!!!!

I agree with SD. For now, start whatever threads you want.

Atleast there is an excuse for talking about those bands again..haha.

Whenever the time is right I would like to start a Sepultura discography thread.

Before my electricity/Net access went "pffft" due to Hurricane Sandy, I was able to copy/paste a bunch of my entries from the old Savatage thread thanks to Lari's "Google Cache" trick. Whenever I'm up and running at home again, I should be able to re-build that thread fairly quickly.

I will also try the same trick to recover the Overkill, W.A.S.P., Dokken and Raven threads I authored.

But I will probably update the Ramones thread I'm currently doing before I worry too much about re-activating the old stuff!!

In my spare time, I'd like to finally start that Yes discography thread I talked about doing last summer. I haven't listened to their material in a while, so I think it'd be fun to revisit them by writing up reviews.

Being that this section seems more dead than alive maybe we have to diversify it somehow. Like maybe make thematic\genre\timeframe\whatever section? Or leave it as it is?

Before you signed up there were about 4 or 5 pages of discographies in this section. The board just up and dumped them all but a few. Alot of work went down the tubes and I can understand the reluctance of those that were active (then) to do it all over again. I appreciated what was done before by the members, which was ALOT of time and effort and still try to partici[ate.

Maybe if others overlooked the cobwebs in this section and took some time to dig into a band and post more stuff here, more interest might be received again in this section ?

I think we will leave this section as is for now. However, if you have some cool theme or conceot threads in mind, BOU, feel free to post them in the main section, and who knows, if they catch on, we can perhaps alter the areas further down the road?
