Surprised that there wasn't already a thread about this band. While I do admit, Their first (and until the release of Time I, only) album has been put on a pedestal and is highly over rated, it's still a very fun listen. Its one of those Melodic Death Metal bands I would sooner throw in with more standard Melodic Metal bands.
Any-who, opinions?

this is a good band. Some very good songs on that album. I love 'Battle Against Time'. There are also moments where I'm thinking... this is everything that is plastic about metal.. (the guitar tone can die).. but they do tend to get past it with the good songwriting. 'Time' should turn out to be more solid.. It only took them 4,456,773 years to put out.....

Very good band/album, but yeah, it is ABSURDLY overrated. There's not one thing special about the album. Pretty standard fare melodic death metal done really well.

I agree with the sentiment. I enjoy it while listening to it but forget soon after.

I love the debut. It's just filled with great songs, especially the brillant "Death and the Healing". I'm worried about the hype for the new album, but I've already pre-ordered it from CM Distro and I'm really looking forward to it

So i have been listening to the Time I and it is truly epic, without going over the top. I am not much a death metal fan anymore but thing smokes. Looking forward to part II.

I really really like most of the intro and 'Sons of Winter and Stars', but at the same time, there's a lot about this record where I'm going.. "this is what's wrong with modern metal". Not to the extent of Epica, but still. I'm hoping pt 2 is better.

I thought Time I was a bit to squeaky clean if it makes sense. And I liked how the songs on the self titled were epic but not of a massive, encompassing length. Time I almost feels like a chore to listen to.

Time would have been a great album if it came out in 2005 as it was supposed to be... 7 years later it is just an overhyped rellic

I still think its brilliant. I love the mood, the music and even the growlies.

Agreed! As much as I enjoyed the first one, this record is really even better. The entire thing is memorable and never feels overwhelming. It was really a great decision by the label to split it into 2 records because 80 minutes of that style would be too overwhelming.

With that said, I'm very excited for Time II!
