| Interesting pic. From what I've read, that's old Lizzy himself dressed as the Angel of Death and the 3 ladies have an appointment to meet Death after meeting their demise. | |

Go HERE to place your pre-order now to get the low price before it goes up. The pre-order for Appointment with Death begins shipping on Friday, September 28, 2007. Appointment With Death, the latest Lizzy masterpiece, like all of Borden's records, is a conceptual album about…well it's about death, what else?
"Oddly enough, writing eleven songs about death was no easy task for me; lyrically being graphic or grotesque would have been too easy, and being overly morbid would bring nothing new to the concept. I wrote this just like I have all of the other LB recordings, as a play or a movie. There is a beginning, middle and an end with the lead character taking us on a journey. Death is all around us, lurking, waiting to pounce, striking fear in the living and infecting us in many different ways, I tried to explore some of those ways in the most poetic way that I know how" commented Lizzy.
The album includes a plethora of guest performances: George Lynch (Dokken/ Lynch mob), Dave Meniketti (Y & T), Corey Beaulieu (Trivium), Jonas Hansson (Silver Mountain), Eric Rutan (Hate Eternal/ex-Morbid Angel), Michael T. Ross (Angel/Hardline), Adam Cameron, Zane, and Marliese Quance. These aren't simply guest performances, however. Each artist contributed something unique to complete the fatalistic tapestry that is Appointment With Death.
Track Listing 1 Abnormal 2 Appointment With Death 3 Live Forever 4 Bloody Tears 5 The Death Of Love 6 Tomorrow Never Comes 7 Under Your Skin 8 Perfect World (I Don't Wanna Live) 9 Somthin's Crawlin 10 (We Are) The Only Ones 11 The Darker Side

| What I have heard (which is about half the album) makes me think it's a very powerful contender for album of the year. It has a modern feel but it does not waver much from the Lizzy Borden sound. Its amazing to me that after all these years, that Lizzy can still sound so great.
Along with WASP, Lizzy Borden were the best bands that came from The L.A. Strip in the 80's.
Of course, that's my biased unprofessional opinion. |

| My review of the new Lizzy Borden.
I'm a lover, not a writer, bear this in mind......
I recieved my copy today (a day before the release day from Overstock.com) and I absolutely love this album. I love Lizzy's voice in the first place and he sounds as good as he always has. I love the new image as well. The packaging has awesome photography which sets the tone of the album. The songwriting is strong with a dark theme concerning death (duh) and on quite a few of the songs, their are guest guitarists. Such as George Lynch on The Death of Love and Dave Meniketti on The Darker Side. How can you go wrong with Lynch and Meniketti??? My only complaint, albeit a small one, is Ira Black isn't on all songs. But even the songs he doesn't play on have the same guitar tones as to not sound different. The song that was "released", Appointment With Death, is actually one of my least favorite on the album. That being said, if you like the song Appointment with Death, you will not be dissappointed! I just favor the more melodic songs on the album such The Death of Love and Tomorrow Never Comes. This album could have been released between right before or after Visual Lies and I think it would have fit right in, but at the same time it has a modern feel and will appeal to classic and modern fans alike. All around this is my contender for album of the year. It's just my opinion. But I haven't been so excited about an album all year, and this one delivers from front to back.
In 2 words, BUY IT! |

| I love Lizzy Borden, they're really bad ass in concert. I saw them with W.A.S.P. and they put on a better show that them. I agree that Deal With the Devil was a great comeback, so I hope this one rocks as well. | |
