| Hm, is there any band like King Diamond? I'm looking for something new for my ears. By the way, I'm new in this forum.
Currently, these are the albums I liked at the moment. I like high-pitch voice, falsetto or real voice.
King Diamond - Abigail Helloween - Keeper of the Seven Keys I & II Queensrÿche - Queensrÿche Yngwie Malmsteen - The Seventh Sign
I'm sorry but I'm a newbie in metal world. My favorite sub genre are Symphonic and Power Metal.

| Believe it or not because of the Anette discsussion I broke out my first exposure to Nightwish. While I don't like it as much as I used to (maybe because I've played it to death), many tracks like the title track and She Is My Sin still sound good to me even though I've pretty much abandoned this style of music. _________________ "The cat is the most ruthless, most terrifying of animals." - Spock in the "Catspaw" episode of ToS Season 2.

| Nightwish is one of the most beautiful band out there. Well, I took time to appreciate Anette's vocal style. I played DPP like hell back then just to appreciate it and I kept in my mind that there's still a light surrounding this band and I found it. I don't play their album that much but once in a while I listen to it. My favorite Nightwish album are Oceanborn and the Wishmaster. Those are their purest, darkest and aggressive album up to date. | |

I'm sorry but I'm a newbie in metal world. My favorite sub genre are Symphonic and Power Metal. Welcome aboard! To the boards! Welcome aboard the boards?! I see you like great guitarwork to go with your amazing vocalists. The early Dio albums would be an obvious recommendation, especially the debut, so I won't even go there. How about Impellitteri? The distinct shredding of Chris Impellitteri, one of the better "neo-classical" style guitarists, coupled with the golden pipes of Rob Rock equals one epic metal band. Check out their Screaming Symphony, Eye of the Hurricane or Crunch albums. I don't know if you've heard Sonata Arctica, but their Ecliptica (and why not Silence?) album is a standout in the otherwise many ways oversaturated euro-power genre. If you want a bit heavier, but still like the high pitch to go with it, try Hollow. They only ever made two albums, and both are worth getting, but get Modern Cathedral, the better of the two, in my opinion. Also, a band I cannot recommend highly enough is Savatage. Pretty much the greatest band ever to walk the Earth. My favourite band ever. Jon Oliva is a god among men and the band's music has great variety and will break your balls and heart. I'm not sure which album to recommend the most to you, since the best guitar work was on the earlier records (by Criss Oliva, an f'n god above gods), and you might enjoy the shrieking vocals of Jon, but Zak Stevens was the more melodic vocalist and he got some great guitar support too with Alex Skolnick (my personal favourite guitar wizard) and why not Chris Caffery. I don't know... read the thread and make up your own mind. My favourites are Wake of Magellan, Dungeons Are Calling, Streets and Hall of the Mountain King. If you want something current, Kiske's and Kai Hansen's band Unisonic released an album this year.

| You're forgetting Al Pitrelli , a fine guitarist in his own right. I've seen him twice with TSO and he killed it. Of course he's no Oliva or Skolnick (two of my favorites), but then who is? | |
