| ...heard a song while watching a movie in a theater or at a Drive-In that you'd never heard before and it made ya go out and buy the record ? I have or should I say did The first was "Live And Let Die" by Paul Mc Cartney & Wings also I had seen the movie at the drive in when it first came out in 71' but bought the soundtrack for it a couple years later. That being Easy Rider. _________________ | |

| The soundtrack to 'Singles'. That album introduced me (more or less) to that new grungy music all the kids were raving about. Still a favorite. _________________ I used to be with it, but then they changed what "it" was. Now what I'm with isn't it, and what's it seems weird and scary to me, and it'll happen to you, too.

| Being a child of the late 90's/early 2000's, I have no good films or music that can vouch for my interest in either. Maybe that's why I'm so obsessed with the 70's and 80's.
This is super cheesy, but the Freddy vs. Jason OST was a huge pick up for me. It's mostly nu-metal and metalcore smurf poo, which I admittedly was into for a while. I liked the emotional aggression of the music at the time and it introduced me to bands that I still spin on occasion today, including early Killswitch Engage, From Autumn to Ashes, and Hatebreed.

| The soundtrack to "FM" was a great 2-LP set with a "who's who" of late 70s rockers including Steely Dan, Joe Walsh, Foreigner, Boston, etc. I became fascinated with Steely Dan because of the title track and that was also the first LP I owned that contained "Life's Been Good" by Joe Walsh.
The soundtrack to "Heavy Metal". I owned the LP before I ever saw the movie, it was my introduction to Black Sabbath with Dio. Also contains some B.O.C. and a killer Donald Fagen tune called "True Companion"

| There is a song that's played in the movie 'The Hangover' which sounded pretty bitchin'. I vaguely remember watching the credits to see who it was but now I forget the band.
It's the scene when they are driving back from Vegas to get to the wedding and the van is next to them, throwing their tuxes to them. The music playing is cool, whoever it is. _________________ I used to be with it, but then they changed what "it" was. Both those ae great soundtracks. Weird how the Sabbath tune sounds better on the soundtrack than on the actual BS albim. _________________

Sabbath sent it to the producers and stated that if they liked the tune, they would send the finished version once they finished recording it. The producer wrote back that he loved the demo so much he didn't even want to hear another, so the demo was used in the movie and on the soundtrack. The recent deluxe edition of Mob Rules contains both versions. |

| Did this with Decline of Western Civ. 2 the Metal Years, but not so much with the songs on the cd, which I have and its alright, but I was and have been searching to no avail for the band that plays the tunes in and around the Gazarri scenes.
I do know the band is called Trikk Toyzz and Simon Steele is a part of the band. There are 3 songs credited in the film, but I have had ZERO luck locating any thing from this band. A good friend of mine even spoke to Penelope Scpheeris about the band and she clammed up on him when he pushed her about info's???
Simon Steele did record a song for the Dudes soundtrack and it actually made the cd...

| Return Of The Living Dead soundtrack turned me onto groups like The Cramps, the Damned, and TSOL. Still one of my favorite soundtracks.
Repo Man soundtrack turned me onto Suicidal Tendencies and the Circle Jerks.

I know the scene you're talking about. During the "Miss Gazarri" dance-off, a song is playing that's not featured on the soundtrack. Part of the chorus goes "...she's got potential". That's all I remember about the tune, but it sounded good. Never found out who it was. _________________ I used to be with it, but then they changed what "it" was. I beleive they are a "studio band" full of session musicians. That other band that did the "Vengeance is mine" tune on Dudes soundtrack is just as mysterious. So it all makes sense. _________________

Shockwaves Skullsessions did a podcast interview with Nadir D'Priest who fronted the band London on the strip at that time. He talks about have a couple of tunes in the soundtrack that are not credited (if I remember correctly). Unfortunately, I have not seen this movie yet, but I need to.
