I've been hearing The Moody Blues around the house since I was a toddler. Since I've probably been listening to Nights In White Satin since 1973 or so...I'm a little burnt out on it. LOL.

Beautiful song of course. Though my favorite song on DOFP is "Dawn Is A Feeling".

I might have to listen to that one again, Nights in White Satin was really the only song that stuck with me... The rest of the album reminded me of a Disney movie soundtrack, actually haha.

I would say the album is closer to sounding like a Broadway Musical than Disney, but I can understand the impression.

Don't discount "Tuesday Afternoon" from that album, it's a truly great song.

Days Of Future Passed was considered a groundbreaking album and one of the first "progressive rock" albums, because a rock band recording a composed piece with a full orchestra was unheard of at the time.

Well, I'm definitely going to jam it sometime later tonight then... I'll see if my first impression was wrong.

Well, I have a feeling your first impression was actually pretty accurate...I was just pointing out that even though DOFP can seem a tad "maudlin" at times (depending on your tolerance for this stuff), it's still a historically significant album. I don't listen to it very often, but when the mood strikes I always enjoy it.
