Let's Go Crazy!

I was floored by the Prince perfromance at the half-time show. Even if you are not a Prince fan you have to admit, that was a killer performance. Seriously, I was blown away.

Greatest performer alive today - and one of the MOST talented!! I am proud that he is from my old neighborhood!

PRINCE= unrivaled musical genius. Even his crap throwaway albums contain more talent than most performers top notch efforts.

I was in a band in 1990/91 and we did a cool cover of "Sign O' The Times"...in the basement...for noone but ourselves.

Thats all we ever did....Went kaput with originals and 3 covers in our repetoire....

i turned the sound off on the tv & preceded to have a belching contest with my friends. i'd say it sounded similar though.

HUGE Prince fan, as most probably know. I own most of his official catalog and have seen him in concert. The guy is, as was mentioned, a musical genius. I would still rate his show as one of the top 2 or 3 shows I have ever seen.

I am not a Prince fan. I was at a casino for the game. The party was hosted by the NM Scorps, so during half time they were doing give-aways and yakking though the PA. What I got to hear sounded good. Thought I heard a bit of Jimi Hendrix and some wicked guitar playing.

The guy is flat out one of the best guitar players I have ever heard. He could bury a lot of metal players if he chose to go that route.

it really doesn't matter to me what rubs you raw or what you understand. you've made your opinions on bands like Slayer very clear, likewise i should be free to do the same. making fun of my user name clearly shows you yourself have some growing up to do.

Yep! I have always thought that Prince exhibited a huge Hendrix influence. Great stuff.

Prince was the one thing I really wanted to see during the game, don't get me wrong the game itself was good, but I was really looking forward to Prince. Right when he started I had to leave to go move my darn car, so I ended up missing the whole performance.

Prince is one of the few pop artists I can listen to,he is a musical genius and his guitar work would put alot of people to shame.Hail to the great purple one!!!

A friend of mine (who does not play guitar) said it is being reported the last guitar he played, the purple one was out of tune. This is the reason in the end he tossed it, to a tech or the crowd, could not tell. It did sound rough, but I thought it was the distortion and pickups. Did it sound out of tune to anyone?

I finally saw it on youtube today and it didn't sound out of tune to me. He also knocked down the mic stand, on purpose so he just might have been "feeling it" during the performance. He did play a couple cover tunes, which might IMO elude to a covers disc, which would be totally awesome. Prince Rules.
