Henry Rollins gave a rave review to the Miles Davis - Live in 1969 set in his LA Weekly column. It's a 3-CD/1 DVD set of the Bitches Brew band in all their improvisational glory.

In my new release email from NEH today, I saw that someone finally reissued Leroux's "Last Safe Place" album. I had to get my copy as a Japanese import directly from bass player Leon Medica's personal stash. I recommend this album to fans of 80s hard pop rock. It featured "Addicted" and the title track which both received extensive airplay on AOR stations back in the day.

On a side note, it was pretty cool to get an email response from a member of the band. I sent an email to the generic "contact us" address asking about the Last Safe Place album never expecting an answer much less an answer from a band member. Little did I know that Leon Medica ran the site at the time. Here's "Last Safe Place" DB:

I missed the middle name in that triumvirate the first time I read it. I just saw Pinnick, thought "Ugh, Kings X" and bailed. Now that I see Memphis' own Eric Gales is in the band I'm more interested. I saw him open for Rock City Angels back in the 80s when he was a teenage guitar prodigy.

I don't know. I'm trying to think of someone who's been around long enough that they can suggest he helped "shape" power metal. Well, they said "shape up," but I'm assuming that's an issue with whoever wrote it not being very proficient with English.
And Timo ended his PledgeMusic campaign because of some "better offer," or whatever.
