Dammit!! I was in FYE and forgot to look for the new High on Fire. Curses!
I saw it at Best Buy, but didn't get it. I like HoF, but there is so much I like more and with my only source of income is unemployment or anything I can sell, I need to be very selective of what I buy.

Some good sale prices out there. You can print out a Best Buy coupon from the High On Fire facebook page that gets you the album for $7.99.
Good to know. I'm going to Best Buy tomorrow night to price out a new computer monitor for home. Might have to make an "impulse buy" while I'm there.

I need to stop buying CDs as I've gone overboard lately (as will be seen when I post on the New Additions thread). I'm going to try to limit myself to one release per week (after this month is over). I'm going to have to start being more selective with my CD ordering.
Four more days 'til the new Exumer album comes out!!!
It got leaked not too long ago. Did you hear anything off of it, and is it any good?

I'll be getting the Lamentations (CD/DVD) reissue, first time the CDs and DVD have been released in the same set (previously the CDs were only available in an out of print box).
I'd also like to get the Pelican EP.

I'll probably grab Accept and Halestorm, maybe Taproot. Definitely the Accept, but if I find cooler things I'll pass on the other two for now.

Are they the guys that are all instrumental? If they are the ones I'm thinking of, the stuff I heard is pretty cool. Don't know if I'd listen to a whole album of it in one sitting though.
Other than Accept, not much there to interest me. Maybe the Jeff Loomis disc at some point, but I'm in no rush. His last album was cool, but I can only take guitar instrumentals in small doses.

Yes, they are an instrumental band. Their music is very thematic (no real 'solos', just ever evolving melodic statements), very cool stuff when I'm in the right mood for it. Seeing them live is what got me into them.

I'd hear them occasionally when I had sattelite radio. Hmmm, maybe a short ep would give me just enough taste.

I wouldn't start with this new EP, it's "okay" but I'm sure it's just s temporary stop-gap until the next full length comes out. I would recommend getting either "City of Echoes" or "What We All Come To Need" as introductions to what they are about.
Even their heavier material is kind of "meditative" by design, creating a wash of sound that envelopes the listener. Cool stuff when the mood strikes.

I'm really anticipating the new Firewind - Few Against Many, from all indications this will be one of their heavier cds they have put out.

nice. I was a little disappointed in the last one as a follow up to Allegiance.

The Premonition or Days Of Defiance (both after Allegiance). I loved Premonition but was highly dissapointed by Days Of Defiance.

The new Pelican ep is pretty short. But it is quite good. Start with Australasia and work your way up.

That new Soundgarden track was underwhelming. Hope it was just a throwaway track for the Avengers soundtrack and not an indication of their new album.

I actually like weeks like this. Haha. It sucks when there are like 10 releases I want released on the same day.
I don't think there are 10 artists on that list I even recognize.
