So I picked this up earlier today, listened to it while I was out running errands. This band has always been one of my favorite female-fronted bands. I loved Lisa Middelhauve's voice, so I was bummed when she left the band. (Didn't realize until today she's actually married to the bassist.) Then they got another singer, who later also quit. Didn't bode well, it seemed.
But damn, this album, based on a couple listens, blows their previous albums away! It's far more symphonic, the new singer being much more like Nightwish's Tarja, thus it sounds a lot like old Nightwish. I won't compare it to those albums, but I can definitely say it's better than the albums Nightwish have done with Annette.
I expect this to be in my top 10 by year's end. It's so damn good! Fans of the Tarja-era Nightwish will love it.

I have a couple albums by this band that just bore me to tears. Spun them once and shelved them.
Sounds like I need to give this new one a shot.

Yeah, their previous albums are "soft," if that makes sense.

That surprises me. I have that one and I think it's music to sleep by.

Got his also a few weeks ago. After I saw them mentioned in the female fronted thread. I think I actually thought it was nightwish cuz some one illuded to them sounding pretty close. I love the album. It is very good, and gives me a band like night wish after Tarja left.
