So there's an old ska-punk band called The Urge that I really dig. I'd heard they got back together recently, so I went looking for some info online. Doing this, I came across an album on Amazon called Lunch An The Lady Garden, which didn't sound like the kind of title The Urge I knew would use on an album. So I gave it a listen, and it wasn't them of course.
But it was what sounded like a cool hard rock band. The samples sounded great, the album was cheap, so I snagged it. It hasn't arrived yet, but I was tracking down some videos tonight and figured I'd post something...
They're a UK band, doesn't look like they did anything but that one album (their site hasn't been updated in years), but I think I'm going like the one album they did do.

Yeah, that's not The Urge I know either. Mine is from St. Louis and plays mashup of ska, punk and hardcore. I like this sample better.

I think my malaria is acting up again. I'm reading this as Urge Overkill and wondering why none of this makes sense.
By the way, the other Urge sounds ok though too. Like a better-than-average bar band. Catchy enough.

Got this today. Fantastic album. Very Quireboys-esque.

There was also an Urge from Baltimore that for like two seconds was "the next big thing" in that local scene.

Like the clip. But that description alone is enough to make me look into getting their album.

Here are a couple tunes from the album:
Heavy horns on that second clip, almost like the ska band of the same name. =)

Right on.
A song just came on earlier, so it reminded me of this thread. It's a really good album.

For $6 if I can find 3 or 4 tracks I like it's worth it so it seemed like a good gamble.

I actually ordered this awhile back but got sent a cd by the other Urge instead. I dig ska/punk and it was cheap, so all good. But completely forgot to go back and get this. Should get on it.

The other Urge is great, yeah, but not even close to similar. Haha.
