Yes he did. Rick Derringer was quite involved with the WWF in the 80's, he was also the Producer of "The Wrestling Album", WWF's first album, he was involved in a couple more song (One of them, Land of the Dance features Derringer, Cyndi Lauper and Meat Loaf) and was also involved with producing the second WWF album (Piledriver), which features the Demolition Theme and Mean Gene Okerlung singing the Rick Derringer song (though i think it was first recorded by one of the Winter guys) "Rock and Roll Hoochie Koo" with Derringer on lead guitar
He was also part of the band McCoys who in the 60's had a big hit: Hang on Sloopy and was involved with Johnny and Edgar Winter. He was also in a sort of Supergroup with Carmine Appice and Tim Bogert (anyone remember the awesome Vanilla Fudge?) called DBA - Derringer, Borgert, Appice....how creative. He also worked with KISS, playing guitar on the Lick it Up album the solo on Exciter is him (Funny how many session musicians were involved with KISS without ever getting credit for)
It's interesting how a guy can have a very successful (with the McCoys, the Winter group) carreer but is so unknown that rarely one know his name and if, Real American is the first thing that gets named.

Rick produced madame X album back in the 80s. The sound and mix was really good on this album.

No. If I never hear Rock N Roll Hoochie Koo again I'll be a happy man.
