| Megaupload is back... sort of. Exiled founder Kim Dotcom unveiled his latest sharing/storage venture, simply called "Mega," today.

| I find it amusing that even after Megaupload was shut down sales of physical media continued to decline another 13%.

Oh I completely agree with you, in fact I'm surprised the decline hasn't been quicker. |

1 word: Spotify Spotify is hardly the only thing leading to the decline, in fact I would say it's just one element of the main issue: Portability. The most sought after demographic of the music industry is teenagers and people in their early 20s...those kids don't want to lug CDs around, they want access to hit singles on their portable devices. So they buy individual tracks from iTunes or Amazon and stream stuff on either Spotify or Youtube. CDs are dinosaurs to them, unnecessary pieces of plastic no more desirable to them than 8-Tracks were to us. |

What I meant was that illegal downloading has become rather obsolete, thanks to Spotify. So despite Megauplosd shutting down the decrease in music sales is still falling. Spotify is of course not the only factor, but, as far as I can see from the people surrounding my everyday life, it us the biggest factor. People no longer download music, they stream it. Movies are now the thing to download. _________________ | |

For some reason this brought to mind an image of a kid saying "Duuuuuude, where you been? Illegal downloading is so 2005." _________________ "If you're a false, don't entry, because you'll be burned and died!"

Rapidshare is next... It took a while longer than I thought it would, to be honest, but yup... Rapidshare officially announced that they were closing up shop at the end of March 2015. _________________ "If you're a false, don't entry, because you'll be burned and died!"

| Vapidshare is still going strong though. _________________ I used to be with it, but then they changed what "it" was. Now what I'm with isn't it, and what's it seems weird and scary to me, and it'll happen to you, too.
