| Ever paid a high collector price for something and then realized after that....
a) you didn't really like the record, or b) it really wasn't worth what you spent?
Then there is always the I paid a lot for something only for it to turn up later for much cheaper.
I've gotten lucky for the most part. Plus I'm cheap so I tend to stay away from the really expensive stuff.
The big one for me was Hexx's Morbid Reality. I like the record but did I ever pay more for it than I've enjoyed listening to it. Coroner's Grin would also fall into this category.

| Just one that I can think of off the top of my head: Helloween's CHAMELEON (waits for Phoenix Reign Drummer to come and throw a brick at me...haha).
The band didn't have a U.S. record deal when it was first released in 1993 so I paid $30-something for an import copy of it. I was thrilled ... until I actually heard the record. Ugh. I immediately wished I'd spent that 30-some-odd bucks on something more useful, like malt liquor or pornography.
Seriously, I HATED that album. Still do. I honestly was never all that crazy about its predecessor either (PINK BUBBLES GO APE), but at least there were a few listenable tracks on that one. CHAMELEON had nothin'. It's the only Helloween album I ever got rid of and to this day, whenever I hear its name spoken out loud, I swear my nostrils detect the odor of poo-poo.

| I did that only a couple of times, back when I was a teenager I spent way too much money for Aussie copies of AC/DC-Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap and High Voltage, but I did not regret it since I was ( and still am ) a huge fan,
I did buy Quiet Riot I as a bootleg and that was a major disappointment, considering what a Randy Rhoads fan I was at that time I was not excepting it to be so poppy.

| What I find goofy-as-hell are sellers who charge mega-bucks for something just becuase it's an original pressing. Especially when it's not out of print or has been re-issued/re-released in the same format without remastering or bonus material. _________________ | |

| Then you have those who payed 50 bucks for something 5 years ago and want to sell it for that now when it's not as valuable anymore. Due to numerous/whatever reasons. _________________ | |

It's even goofier when people actually BUY these things from those sellers. First pressing vinyl I can understand...but CDs? |

Somebody was slingin cds when I first signed up and asked for offers on what he was selling. I made an offer on a Savage Grace cd he had. (have it on vinyl but cd would be convenient) I offered 10 bucks plus shipping cost (fair price for a used cd) He was offended and said it was an original black dragon pressing or something like that from the 90's. I checked amazon and they had it new for the same as I offered. When I mentioned that to him, he basically said I was lying. Gave him the link, and got a reply that it was a bootleg for sale on Amazon. Told him to have a nice day. _________________

I absolutely LOVE that album!! One of their best.. Well, I also prefer "Keeper Part 1" over "Part 2," which doesn't seem to be the prevailing opinion, so what can I say, I must walk alone where the Helloween catalog is concerned. _________________ "If you're a false, don't entry, because you'll be burned and died!"

I have this CD, this has got to be one of my worst purchase, Ever.... probably one of the worst rock albums ever , I usually preview albums off Youtube before buying, I freaking don't know why I failed to do it. If ever I had the choice, I wouldn't download this album for free either

i hear you! The prices on Christian metal cds are soooo out there sometimes... This I have to agree, Mediocre Production and 'sometimes' poor songwriting hardly ever justifies the hefty Price, that's why I never even bothered, I might be a little mean on this but majority of Christian Metal bands out there are blatant Rip-Offs ...Given the Choice between a So-so Christian Metal album and a Good Contemporary Christian Pop Album, I'd choose the latter without any hesitation

Take for example Force 3 - WArrior of Light. It sells for a high price and is really poor. _________________

| Actually my biggest collector's regret is selling collector's items to fund.. eh my ex's karate classes - please don't judge me I was thinking with my head ...
In any cases I have since been able to re-purchase many of the albums with which I parted ways but there are a handful which I very much regret selling to fund her cause namely, Coroner's R.I.P. , No Mo Color and Grin.
I also sold most of my Rage albums but I was lucky enough to re-purchase those albums.
Other albums I sold which I have not been able to get back: Nocturnus' The Key and Luciferion's Demonication - both of which are now out of print cult death metal classics...
It pains me that I no longer have those albums especially as some of those, the Coroner albums and the aforementioned death metal albums meant quite a lot to me ... evidently not enough at the time but in hindsight the fact that I don't have them now leaves an even bigger hole in my heart.
