I picked up their latest, Visionary, a few months ago and thought it was great. Been meaning to pick up more since then, but haven't seen any around here locally. The other night I stumbled across a blog that had all their albums—22 of them—posted. So I downloaded them. Guilty!
Anyway, what a fantastic band! I'm really enjoying these cats. Even the old 70s releases are awesome. I'd never heard of them until Laser's Edge put out the North American release of Visionary. Once again, Ken Golden hooks it up!
Most of you prog fans probably already know about this band, but if not...

Alright! they are one of my favorite bands going way back. Their first album is kind of like Uriah Heep. Then their "classic" era they were very spacy, kind of like Hawkwind crossed with Pink Floyd. My favorite from them is the album "Colours" which adds an Alan Parsons 80's flavor to their sound. I have Visionary and it's pretty good, but it hasn't realy clicked for me yet because it lacks the dynamics of their classic era, sticking more to a laid back hypnotic vibe. The classic mid 70's stuff was almost all long jammy hypnotic songs that were also quite heavy.

Very cool. Visionary is definitely not as "experimental" as the older stuff, but still really good. Then again, I discovered the band through that album so I had no expectations.
Hawkwind is another band I've never heard but really want to. That's a hefty undertaking, though. Haha.

I'm a bit familiar with their music. The local Virgin downtown has all of their albums.
Maybe i'll start getting them.
Any specific recommendations?

Start with Silent Cries and Mighty Echoes. I think that is about midway through their '70s albums and is a good one!
