I like Bruce's version better.
Rob's version (which I never heard till now) sounds very 80's-ish and over-produced. Like it should be sung by Lionel Ritchie on the closing credits of a romantic movie.

The Rob Rock version comes off the Driver group's Sons of thunder release. This was actually an old Driver song that Roy Z brought to Bruce Dickinson. The Driver album is only three years old, but was apaprently meant as 80's sounding as possible, as bulk of the songs on it were written in late 80's. Pretty good release, actually! Think they're working on a new one.

Yeah, I read about that! Pretty cool. I take it it wasn't featured on the original Driver EP/Demo?

I like them both. Rock's sounds like Rock. He has that smooth, classic rock voice. Bruce's is heavier with a grittier vocal delivery.

I like them both. Though, I do agree Rock's sounds very of a specific time. Like it should be in a Miami Vice montage.

From what I can make from that video,I gotta go with Bruce's version. Of course,I've never heard Rob Rock's version before seeing the video so I'm sure it's just the familiarity of Bruce's version which causes me to lean that way.

I really wasn't familiar with Driver until the Sons of Thunder release, only had heard of them. But according to metal-archives, a compilation called End of Time featured a version of the song, but not the the EP/Demo, no.

I love both their singing. Wish they'd actually record a song together.
Not this song though, as it isn't among my favourites, but Balls to Picasso is still an amazing album.

Ah, the infamous End of Time release. I know of only 1 owner of that comp. It's not an official release, but not a bootleg either. And I beleive it was released prior to the Sons of Thunder release, so I guess they recorded the song way back when.

I like the song but I agree on that album it is the weaker track. Tears Of The Dragon is the best and one of the best songs on any album followed by Sacred Cowboys, Fire, Laughing In The Hiding Bush, and Shoot All The Clowns.
As for which version? I love the latin feel of Bruce's version which fits well with the rest of the album, but on Rob's version, the chorus sounds better (I always felt Bruce's voice didn't fit the chorus very well-not bad, just a little off).

this was one of those tunes on the Driver disc I would skip every time...... Not a fan of this song..... yawn......
Being a fan of both singers I think they each bring something to the table with this song.....
