TSOL's debut record from 1982 is my favorate hardcore/horror punk record of all time. Imagine The west coasts version of The misfits "walk among us". Something was really unique about all the Orange county/venice beach/Huntington beach bands that were around at the time, too bad they didnt always get along because each respective scene was totally on the same level. I would have loved to see a TSOL EP/dance with me era show with like Agent orange playing the entire "living in darkness" album...holy smurf poo, I feel like I should be like 42 sometimes.

By the time I got into this band, they already were going thru their 'metal' phase, and when I went back and heard this early recordings I was surprised how different they sounded.

Dance With Me was a classic. On that tour they came into a donut shop I worked at by chance, and I gave them all the free donuts that they wanted. They seemed to get a kick out of stuffing themselves at the expense of the Denny's Corp.

I had one of their albums on tape back when I was a kid. I honestly can't remember which one it was though. Been so long.
For some reason - I just forgot all about this band. Good stuff though. I might have to replenish my collection with their goods.

Didn't TSOL have a hair metal/blues rock phase with a singer named Joe Wood?

Yeah, or like metal or hard rock like manny said. I dont really like that era of the band too much actually. To me, Jack Grisham made TSOL.

Cool dude! I recommend the first EP and the weathered statues EP(I think the cd had both on one disc), Dance with me, and Beneath the shadows. Those are the essential ones.
