Hard Rock violinist Mark Wood

I've known about this guy for years but i didn't realize how amusing his novelty violin act was.

Yeah, it's a strange phenomenon. I have his album on cassette, I think I listened to half of it like one time. I don't think the world was ready for it, like the first "Heavy Metal Harpist" or "Heavy Metal Glockenspiel-er". I like violin in doses like on Skyclad albums, but not as the full primary instrument. At least Mark knows he was the first (and maybe last) musician of this kind. It is fun though.

Yeah, but he left in 2009.

I have his album Voodoo Violince album. Not something I listen to regulary, but when a tune comes up in shuffle, I find it quite good. He's the Satch of violins. I saw him play in TSO a few times too.

We haven't played him in years, but I first heard about him through our music guy at work who would play his tracks as background music during PA announcements at hockey games.
