ALICE COOPER- "Pretties For You" came out in 1969....killer psychedelic rawk.


ROLLING STONES- early or late 60's the STONES rocked. They came out as sort of a Bizarro version of their compatriots THE BEATLES...but THE BEATLE got bright and happy...and THE STONES got dark and gritty....I like that a helluva lot better...

I like some JEFFERSON AIRPLANE....JANIS JOPLIN...and PAUL REVERE & THE RADIERS....

I collect anything that's remotely heavy from the late 60's, early 70's. It's a disease!
I think the most under-rated and ahead of it's time thing I've heard from the 60's was "Supernatural Fairy Tales" by ART (1967). ART was a precursor to Spooky Tooth.

I looked through my collection last night and there's one more "must" mention that I forgot. It's the band Writing on the Wall's "Power of the Picts" album (1969). It's kinda stoner/doom; but from before that sound was codified by Sabbath, so it actually sounds like a cross between Hendrix and Arthur Brown, with some Blue Cheer thrown in. Bizzare but good.

That sounds interesting.
