| Anyone get into Engine? It's the side project of Ray Alder (Fates Warning/Redemption), Joey Vera (Armored Saint/Fates Warning) & Bernie Versailles (Agent Steel). Despite the background of the musicians, this was (for the time) a very modern, dark, heavy musical band. Alder's vocals & melodies are very good, and the whole vibe of both albums is very dark, introspective & depressing (in the way Katatonia can be). The second album has a very cool cover of The Cure's "Fascination Steet". They released 2 albums, Engine & Superholic and I think they have been permanently disbanded now. Those open to something a little different may get into it... |

| I've liked what I have heard, but I don't own any Engine CDs yet. _________________ ULTIMATUM - TOO METAL FOR WIKIPEDIA!

BINGO! Chalk one up to your "missing cd's" post. Never heard of them. Not suprising for me though.....sheltered. Going back under my rock now. | |

| They're pretty good. Not amazing, but definitely worth picking up. I like the self-titled more than Superholic. The self-titled is heavier, I think, more in tune with 80s metal, while Superholic is more 90s metal. |

| I picked up Superholic directly from the Metal Blade website pretty cheap if I recall. I like Ray's work in Fate's Warning, but anyone looking for a Fates Warning-type album with Engine, you're gonna be disappointed. Like Eyesore stated, it's definatley has more of a 90's-metal vibe. No big, epic songs, just strait-to-the-point metal. Not great, but worth a spin from time to time. | |

| Picked up Superholic in a trade. Not bad, but not outstanding either. I guess maybe I expected something different from Ray Alder. I'll need to give it a few more spins before I really make up my mind. _________________ ULTIMATUM - TOO METAL FOR WIKIPEDIA!

| Everytime I think about getting rid of this cd, I give it one last spin and think "Eh, it's not too bad", put it back on the shelf and forget about it again for a few months. | |

| Got both Engine cds. I like the first one more than Superholic. They're good but not anything ground breaking. | |
