I got a phone call from an old friend whom I played with in a band called "M.T Hatter & The Giant Cats". He was what I'd call a hybrid player between Blackmore and Uli Roth.
Anywho's...he brought up this gig we had mid-week at one of the crappy "pay-to-play" hellholes on The Strip. While waiting for our set (we were like #3 of 5) and kicking it in the alley. I watched somebody get into a van and drive off. The van had a cargo trailer. My thought was that it was one of the bands playing that night and they were moving so somebody else could either unload or load up ? Two minutes later, this dude comes out of the back door and starts "freaking out". Apparently, the van got stolen.
The following week-end. I was hanging out and this guy came around asking for donations to help replace band equipment that had been stolen earlier in the week. I told him that I had saw it happen and had let his drummer use my drums. I think I donated some cash ? The ironic thing was that the name of the band was "Beggars & Thieves"
