| I'm not really a fan of "alternative metal", but some Christian bands that a lot of people are into are Becoming the Archetype, The Showdown, Disciple, Pillar, Underoath, Thousand Foot Crutch. Gretchen, Red.
I'm more a fan of bands like Narnia, Rob Rock, Place of Skulls, and more traditional sounding metal bands. Of course, be sure and check out Ultimatum www.myspace.com/ultimatummetal

| I'm more into the traditional as well. I just was curious if our youth today had good quality alternatives to God Smack, Disturbed...etc., todays big secular names. | |

| Not a fan of the alternative metal myself. I tend to like the death/thrash/black metal bands. Some you might want to check out: Pantokrator, Crimson Moonlight, Sympathy, Immortal Souls, Common Yet Forbidden, Hope Has Failed Us, Callsito, Sacrificium. Alethian, Shining Star, Pyramaze, Antithesis, Morphia, etc. | |

My boys 15, 14 dig Day of Fire, Pillar, Becoming the Archetype, Demon Hunter ( i dig those guys too... heavy), Decypher Down, Flyleaf... Those are probably their faves.... I would definatley classify these bands as alternative. I don't really think you'll find too much (if any) classic metal type bands in your local bookstore. I'm into more traditional stuff myself, but they also like Deliverance ( my 15 year old likes Metallica) and some Bride... Depends on the day.... Heck even the last Petra lp Jeckyll and Hyde caught their ears, definatley not the Petra of old.... I usually have to find stuff online, because locally forget it!!

| I'm into the Swedish stuff. Veni Domine, Wisdom Call, Narnia, Laudemus. Mostly progressive prog metal. Veni Domine is by far the best of those bands, although each of the others has some killer songs. | |

| Hey, if you are looking for Christian Nu-metal, check out the review of "Dumpstar" that I posted on the review thread. I think it's still there. Very heavy and entertaining alternative. | |

| I really like Pillar. They started out as a pretty terrible rapcore band on their first album, but pulled it all together for their second release and started incorporating more alt-rock. Now they're probably more alt-rock than rapcore, but they still mix it in. I think they're great, and I'm not even religious.
I also recommend the following songs:
Jars Of Clay - Flood Jars Of Clay - Liquid DC Talk - Jesus Freak
Haha. For some odd reason, I love that "Jesus Freak" song. And I'm not a big Jars Of Clay fan at all, but those two songs are really good, and totally not metal in any way. |

still friends with them. Just spent some time with Katon this weekend...Lance and I are going out tonight...We worked out our differences...No need to hold a grudge... Also I only have two photos of OD... That’s what it's all about man. As I'm getting back into my old favorite bands, reading stuff about them, what happened to them, its amazing how much can be lost and thrown away over something as simple as "differences". Whether it’s in styles, how vocals should be sang or a song played. It’s a shame we can't think about all that as we are having our conflicts. I've lost allot for not recognizing that when it could have helped. I was reading Ults take on Ritter leaving Tourniquet in the middle of POD production, if that’s how it went down, no matter who did what, how do you just walk out and leave your "family", your friends like that? Because, you thought it should sound different? I mean, why not let it ride and take another crack at it on the next album. And Tourniquet kept on going. Wasn't the same, but they are still around, have made some great stuff. But why couldn’t they do the same and compromise for Ritter? Van Halen, another dismal example.
