Canadian thrash metal pioneers EXCITER have inked a deal with Germany's Massacre Records for the release of their new album, entitled "Thrash, Speed, Burn". The CD is tentatively due on November 9.

"Thrash, Speed, Burn" will mark EXCITER's recorded debut with new singer Kenny "MetalMouth" Winter, who joined the band last October. The track listing for the effort is as follows:

EXCITER will make its live debut with Kenny "MetalMouth" Winter on August 18 at The Reverb in Toronto, Ontario as part of Glory Through Steel concert series. "Our performance will include material from 1983-85, 1990-93, 1996-2004 plus new material from our upcoming new release, 'Thrash Speed Burn'," the band said. "The evening will be a headbanging, neck-snapping, fists-in-the-air gathering of Toronto metalheads."

EXCITER recently posted a live clip of their new song "In Mortal Fear", recorded during the group's 2005 appearance at the Bang Your Head!!! festival in Balingen, Germany. Watch the video at this location.

EXCITER's last CD is "New Testament - Coven of Re-Recorded Classics", a collection of reworked early songs which was released in June 2004 through Osmose Productions.

Honestly, I just wish they would get Dan Beehler back. His voice and drummer were as distinctive to Exciter as Lemmy is to Motorhead.

and it's killer....

Of course this new album will be a BUY OR DIE release. I LOVE EXCITER, one of my fave bands from Canada.

I'm sure it will be good. I'll be getting it.

I need more Exciter!! I liked the guy who sang on 'The Dark Command'....I hope this guy is as good...

I have their first two...Saw them with Hirax and Megadeth at Fenders in Long Beach Ca...Great Band...Good for them...

What are your thought's on Exciter's New Testament? I understand it's a re-recording of their older material with a new vocalist, similair to the last Exodus cd. Is New Testament any good? Since my entire Exciter discograpy is made up of one lone cd (Heavy Metal Maniac), I'm thinking of picking this one up.

Thoughts?

If you can get it cheap, do it. Its good enough. But the old songs sound better in their original format. You probably won't like their lead singer on New Testament though. I got my copy for 3 bucks from The End awhile back. Well worth that price.

I saw it listed on the Sentinal Steel website under the January clearance sale. I'm hoping to put in an order before the end of the day and was debating on this one, especially since I only own one Exciter disc.

I like it. Reminds me of Neil Turbin on that 1st Anthrax disc. I sent in my order request, just waiting to hear back from Sentinal Steel.

I like it a lot. Nothing "new" about it. It's just straight forward speed metal like you would expect from Exciter.
