Bon Scott Rarities Collection to be released...

BON SCOTT's 'Round And Round' Due This Month; Audio Samples Available - Feb. 9, 2011
Starline Media Entertainment has set a February 22 release date for Bon Scott's "Round And Round", featuring rare recordings made prior to the singer joining Australian hard rock legends AC/DC. The album is based around the three-track "Round And Round" single that Scott recorded with Peter Cross of the MOUNT LOFTY RANGERS in 1973.

Producer Ted Yanni has devoted two years to bringing Scott back to life, assisted by many like-minded friends, musicians and technicians.

"Round And Round" also features material from Scott's pre-AC/DC band FRATERNITY.

I was always under the impression that most of his pre-AC/DC music was kinda hippy-ish and pretty far removed from the Bon we all know and love.

I dunno. Maybe this stuff is cool. I think I'll stick with Dirty Deeds for now though.

Pre Bon AC/DC was very hippish when he played with Fraternity, kinda of like the Band, and prior to that Bon Scott was a group called the Valentines which was a real pop/bubble gum group as Bon referred to them, and he was even made to cover up his tattoos.

In both bands Bon was not encouraged to write or help co -wrote any of the songs, is interesting to listen to to see how far he had come from those early efforts to what he did with AC/DC.

This might be something cool to pick up. I'm more excited that the Let There Be Rock concert is finally going to be released on dvdv in June.

Same here, and its about time, I can finally retire my VHS tape that I am surprised it still works considering how many times I have played it.

I am somewhat familar with Bon's earlier flirtations with recorded music. I am a huge fan of his AC/DC stuff and the DVD of "Let There Be Rock" is long overdo. The cover art for this looks kewl, if somewhat familar Kinda/Sorta unsubtle considering the way he died.

Sounds like a big Jethro Tull influence... (not just because of the flute).

I'm surprised that he had such clean vibrato in his singing before Ac/Dc.

This is already out here in Europe.

I actually got the Fraternity CD a few years ago... and you're right... VERY Hippie-ish, lol.

Gonna pass.... A lot of his Fraternity stuff has been released before.... same with The Valentines....
