The three new songs blow me away. Much better than the stuff from the debut. The twin guitars are awesome.

Yeah, the first album sound very much like MERCYFUL FATE but this second is different. I am happy others on this forum like the band.

The debut was the most amazing M. FATE worship. Unfortunately that vocalist is no more so it is not going to be duplicated. I like the new songs, a huge improvement from the EP which was a bit directionless and lukewarm to me.

Another underground band picked up by a major label, hope it works for them. Portrait and Darkest Era are the two Metal Blade releases I'm looking most in the new year.

Just got the new Portrait album this afternoon and have listened to it twice. This is an amazing release! If you like traditional metal in the vein of Mercyful Fate you really need this. Just a searing blast of old school traditional metal done right. I am amazed at how good this album is.
