Just heard the bad news - he was a very good coach. Glad he won the cup back in '03 with the Devils.

One of the greats, I remember him on the bench when Gretzky and the Kings beat him. Which means i'm old.

Of course, I remember Gretzky's first NHL game, so what soes that make me?
Pat Burns was/IS a legend though. Right up there with Herby.

I never liked his teams, but he was successful at what he did. Just realized he died when there was a moment of silence last night at the Hawks game. Really terrible to die too soon and under 60 and especially the way he did - knowing for months in advance the time is close.
