| The only one I have not seen is Jason Goes to Hell. When I was younger I used to really like part IV. Now, I would have to say the best is Part II, and the worst is Jason Takes Manhattan, with part III almost being the worst. I remember the preview for that one "Part III in 3D!!!!" lame

Worst - Jason X I'm glad to see I'm not the only one who liked 5, far from the best, but I thought it was a semi interesting idea, better than the whole reanimated corpse deal that took over the rest of the series

I liked the dark humor they used in part 5. The fat guy that talked like a baby, the goon on the dirt bike etc...

| I have to say that everyone of those F13 movies I've found at least something I liked or had a fun time when first seeing it. So there is no worst for me. Some I like much better than others but none I hate or wouldn't sit down to watch today.
My favorites will always be the first five. With a special love for the first one. I remember seeing parts of it when we first got this new thing called HBO. Traumatized me but also intrigued me. Funny that it seems almost tame compared to what was to come. But damn if it isn't still great - Jason coming out the lake, still after untold viewings, gets me every time.

| This seems to be an appropriate place to post this news: Richard Brooker, the actor/stunt man who played Jason Voorhees in "Friday the 13th Part 3," passed away earlier today.

http://www.fridaythe13thfranchise.com/2013/04/sad-news-jason-voorhees-actor-richard.html The Fridaythe13thfilms.com site was a place I would go on occasion, until it had a serious crash a couple of years back, and now the place is lame. I had no idea Richard Brooker passed away. It's very sad to see this, as he was my favorite Jason in the series, as I could never stand the Kane Hodder Jason at all. It turns out that Mr. Brooker died of a heart attack at 58. That's way too young to leave this earth. Sad... Regarding my favorite Friday the 13th movies, it came down to how Jason was played. Ted White was a great Jason in Part IV and Steve Daskewisz in Part II. Favorites in order: Part II (Because of Amy Steel and her girl next door image) Part IV (Ted White was great as Jason, and loved Tommy and Trish Jarvis) Part III (Richard Brooker nailed the Jason role and great heroin in Chris Higgins) Part I (Location, location, location....Either Part I or II was my favorite location shoot) Part V (I enjoyed the spin on who the killer was) ...big dip in the series after this for me Part VII (I can't stand Kane Hodder as Jason, but the telekinetic angle was sort of different) Part VIII (At least we didn't have zombie Jason running around) Part VI (I hated the guy who played Tommy Jarvis in this movie, and didn't really care for the whole Super/Zombie Jason) Part X (Ridiculous...) Part IX (Outside of the first 5-10 minutes of the movie, I couldn't believe this debacle of a film had been made. I almost walked out of the theater at one point) If you throw in the Freddy vs Jason or the reboot, Freddy vs Jason would wind up between Part VIII and Part VI, and the reboot would end up between Part I and Part V.

| It was a cool show but it had nothing to do with the franchise, no Jason etc. I used to watch it on the Sci Fi channel all the tine, | |

| The old "F13" TV show was cool but like Corporal sez, it was "Friday the 13th" in name only. It had no connection to the films. _________________ "If you're a false, don't entry, because you'll be burned and died!"

| These movies were just subtle pornos, but my favorite would have to be "A New Beginning" (Just for the cheap plot twist.)
It's hard to pick the worst one, because they're all so monotonous and shitty, but the absurdity of Jason X is unmatched.

| Yeah, X was kind of fun for that reason, and having the pseudo-sci-fi slant. But I tried to go through all the Friday movies. I was bored. My God, are they boring and dry. And the kills are so meh compared to a host of other slashers. I love the first one for nostalgia's sake (and that ending, holy shit), and I enjoy horror franchises like Nightmare and Final Destination, but this one just didn't work for me. | |
