I was thinking that we should have a sticky thread on questions relating to packaging.

Two reasons as I see it:
1. As fans of music, and heavy metal, we are collectors of both content and packaging.

2. Various editions of albums come in various different packagings, formats and with different contents (be it full artwork, avatar size artwork, booklet / no booklet etc.)

So what do the moderators think about this?

So I have a question regarding packaging for this Overkill 2 in 1 album:

http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/51WaJ0nXT3L.jpg

Does each album come in its individual jewel case with original artwork?

Good question. Have never seen that one before. Both are great albums though. CD packaging questions 604261

They are indeed and I've been meaning to get both.

If they happen to come with their original album artwork and just as they were when originally released then it's very much a worthy package.

I'm asking because sometimes 2 in 1 packages can be very dodgy (see Destruction's 2 in 1 for All Hell Breaks Loose and Anti-Christ - doesn't come with full artwork and you're asked to instead download the artwork from some link which no longer even works! very very dodgy!)

I've never seen that set either, but if I had to take a wild guess after looking at that thumbnail pic, I'd say "probably not."

I'm pretty sure that's the actual cover art.

That's a slipcase, and within the slipcases is included both CDs and art as if you bought them seperately.

So you do have it then?

Sorry I sound so anal about this stuff but I really don't like these 2 in 1 deals (when I was younger and poorer I bought a few and I thought the deals were great but in hindsight I wish I had bought the original releases with full-sized artwork etc).

I like most methods of packaging as long as it is not that eco fiendly stuff Smile

I'm guessing you don't get two jewel cases or separate art.

I'm not sure, but I have a different version of the same set, called Devil by the Tail
http://www.metal-archives.com/release.php?id=221991
...and it only had one booklet.

But I think I only paid $5 for it.
