I like to read the Amazon reviews on albums and here's one I came across about Lynch's, Furious George album.
"For all long-time Lynch fans who are expecting some great guitar shredding... you won't find it here. Save your money or buy something else. It is a lame collection of cover tunes that George didn't even play rhythm on. He just came in and laid down some solos, and even those solos are boring, uninspired, and lacking the fire that used to make him such an exciting guitarist. Let me say this again: Don't waste your money on this!"
Ok, this isn't as hot as some of Lynch's stuff but those aren't the kind of songs he chose here. I mean, he covers Captain Beyond,ZZ Top and the Beatles here for crying out loud. Yeah, he has a rhythm guitarist but he adds extras like slide on a couple songs and that isn't usual for him. I think he wanted to pay tribute to those who inspired him as he was growing and does a good job of it here.
