Rock N Roll School Supplies!!

Took my older boy to Wal-Mart on Saturday to stock up on some back to school supplies (he starts 2nd grade on Thursday! Where does the time go?) and amongst all the notebook covers and folders sporting Justin Bieber and various Disney characters, I was surprised to find school supplies with KISS, AC/DC, and Aerosmith designs on 'em!!! Here's a pic of some of the KISS stuff, haven't been able to find images of the merch for the other bands...



My son's not really into music yet so these didn't interest him much, but I bought a KISS spiral notebook for me (the one in the center of this pic) just for the heck of it...I couldn't resist.

I sez to my son, "You don't know how lucky you are. Back in MY day we had to draw our OWN band logos on our notebook covers!"

if you see the crayola Coprobaptized Cunthunter colored pencil set, grab it for me & i'll pay you back later.

Nice!!!! I did have the KISS lunch box back in the 70's......

I saw those folders at Walmart, it made me smile, from bands that PMRC and Churches protested to now becoming such huge cultural figures, icons that they are now marketed for kids school supplies.

I've been noticing the same things lately.

Watching the Little League World Series and one car commercial had a Judas Priest song in it. Not one of the well known ones, either.

I think all the metal guys who were in high school in the 70's/80's are now the bosses of ad agencies.

LOL!!!! Yep!!!!

And the KISS show I went to with my son last week could have easily been billed as "family entertainment" just by looking at the crowd and the fact that I didn't smell a single joint at the whole show.

Ah thats nothing I just spent $8 on KISS cups at 7-11. The lady at the counter says oh the person getting these will be happy. I said they're for me and I am. HAHA!

somehow having gene look at me while i am trying to drink isnt going to work for me....

To think just now I don't have to do any back to school shoppin ever again and these come out!
