GRAND MAGUS Hammer of the North

Anyone else digging the new album from Swedish trad metal (with a touch of groove laden doom) gods Grand Magus?

Good to see Roadrunner releasing a band like Grand Magus.

It's a great record. The production is amazing, one of the best sounding records I've heard this year. Same engineer that works with Opeth.

Roadrunner made them record a demo tape of new songs, but signed them immediately upon hearing it.

Yes I think the production is amazing as well, I was also very impressed by the Sneaps production on the new Accept album two of the better sounding metal records this year.

I don't think its been released here yet. I haven't seen it anywhere.

Import only thus far.

The import copies I've seen on ebay have a dvd with it. I'm still holding out for a US release.

All of the songs on this are killer, I did not really care for their previous stuff but this is great

You should re-listen to the album "Wolf's Return", that one is closest to this new one in style. The track "Kingslayer" on that album is a crusher.
