I was all excited that this was a thread to post our favorite country songs...being a big fan of old old schol country. And alas it was a joke.....sigh!

I too am a fan of good country. Heath needs to hear some Vern Gosden or Johnny Cash.

Any pre early 80's country can be anywhere from OK to good - especially the
Christmas stuff....but to actually answer the question:

I am a big fan of Johnny Cash. I liked him before it became popular to like him, again. My favorite songs by him are, A Boy Named Sue, and Darlin Companion. I used to have alot of stuff by him, now just one cd

I am not a fan of country at all, but their are a few country songs I like. "The Devil Went Down to Gerogia" is a really catchy country song, and I like it. But other than that, country blows.

The only country music I like is Johnny Cash.

I like "Theres a Tear In My Beer" by Hank. To bad the idiots at myspace that make fan pages don't have that song up. I will end up buying something by him, just to hear that song

Put The Hammer Down!! It's a collection of trucker songs. My Dad used to be a truck driver and I have this on 8 track but have never been able to find it on Cassette or CD. Been wanting to upgrade this for decades, literally. I usually can't stand Country, but pre 80's Country can be OK and this album is chock-full of great, fun, fast, witty and well played and sung Trucker songs. Completely fantastic! I get chills when I hear any of these songs randomly played on the radio (rare, indeed). I still have 2 8-track players, but the heads are messed up, I guess, because 2 songs will play at the same time - one loud and up front and one in the back ground....so I have a great 8-track collection just collecting dust....

only for US people.
